Adelaide Street, Belfast

Shortlisted for an RIBA Award.

Becoming known as Linen Loft, this project involved the conversion and extension of a former 1950’s linen factory into Grade A office spaces in Belfast.

From the beginning there was great potential with this building. The large number of windows and the three metre-high ceilings made it easier to build an acutely attractive space. There was particularly good quality of space which means a lot if light can enter the building.

Physically it is a perfect depth for light penetration on both sides and with limited structural supports, we were presented with a good open design layout. The extension on each floor provides a mini roof terrace, also adds to the feeling that it’s an open and bright space, creating a New York style work space in Belfast.

For a private client - with a refurbished flor area of 2,150 sqm. Full architectural services from design inception to completion.
